So you dont need to worry about it, as long as when you pick your license you pick the "Octane Render for Cinema4D" version.You can, but it still needs a standalone license anyway. So you have a standalone and Maya license, and then want to use Octane in C4D with the same standalone license.

But when the shuffle happened, I tried to make sure to understand how it all worked so that when it inevitably came up in the sub, I could make sure I was giving the right information. I dunno what the perpetual licenses were like before that, cause I've always used a subscription. But I have the emails from Otoy confirming what I said.Yeah when v4 came out, they shuffled everything around and there was a lot of reworking of the structure of the licenses. Maybe things have changed. They broke it down to either 20 a month or 1000 outright.

Which is a pretty good deal for a lot of people, and why they generally choose to go that route.When your all access year is up, you can reup it like any maintenance and keep it going for another year.TBH the Enterprise DCC + All Access License is basically identical to the Redshift + yearly maintenance.
